A Pastel Christmas Vignette

The pale sky blues, frosty pinks, and sparkly silvers sing to a special corner of my heart each Christmas. Yet the larger, more traditional part of me just cannot let go of the deep crimsons, lush greens, and garish golds. Solution? I found a corner of the dining room that was perfect for displaying a pastel Christmas vignette. Now, I am no longer at war with myself. I have found a way to enjoy a bit of all the color schemes I so admire each Christmas. *proud pat on the back*

But enough of this self-congratulatory reverie. 

Time to get back to filling out those Christmas cards!

Crochet Pillow At Last

 I finally finished crocheting the back of this pillow during the Ohio State v. Michigan game a couple weekends back. The very fuzzy front of the pillow (pictured below left) has been waiting to be completed for nearly two years. Funny thing is, now that I see the finished product, I rather prefer the back of the pillow to the front! What do you think?

Quick Christmas Yummies

The other day, I had company coming and wanted to make something special for their arrival. However, I didn't have much more than boxed cake mix on hand and a very limited time frame in which to bake. I decided to Google search ways to spruce of simple box cake mixes and found this lovely site. 

For the mini bundt above, I simple added two tablespoons of tropical fusion Jell-o to a white cake mix. For the glaze, I sprinkled some more tropical fusion into a simple mixture of hot water and powdered sugar. Thankfully, there are always plenty of cupcake picks on hand since I can never resist snatching them from dollar bins, so adding decoration was a cinch. These came together within a half hour. No lie. That simple.
