Confession

 I have a new addiction.

The tiny, double-bobbinned specialty threads in the Joann's dollar bins.
Who can resist their happy color?

 Their bright textures?

The variety of ric rac, pom poms, ribbon, and string?

Certainly not me! Especially since my teacher discount makes them a mere 85 cents a piece. I just can't help myself. They are useful for trimming so many sweet little projects. I even have Mimsie addicted to them now, too! She uses them to trim her darling dish soap dolls.
(pictures of the ones she made for me coming soon)

Wishing you a day of fun and color!

Craft Board

(a bit of spray paint worked wonders on the formerly black and gold lids)

My long-lonely pinboard has finally found some friends to keep it company. As I was cleaning out the craftroom, items of similar color automatically crowded into one pile. Once I realized how perfectly they matched the pinboard fabric, I realized I had to find a way to keep all these lovelies together. The hoop and hollow eggs (perfect for hiding tiny notions) hung easily from the clear tacks that rim the board. Owlie the II readily perched in the pink circlet to whistle a happy tune. Only trouble left was figuring how to corral the glitter jars into the same vicinity. Then... I remembered... I have Velcro! Not the most practical solution, but it works for me. I realize now that I didn't hang them as equidistant as I had imagined. That is part of the beauty of spontaneity, though, right? ;-)

May all your crafty endeavors come together beautifully!

Hmmmm....

Since putting away the Valentine hearts, the house seems a bit bare. I have some springtime notions, but have not yet settled upon their best use. Oh, well. I guess I will just have to go search Pinterest for some fresh inspiration.... oh, the difficulties of my life! (note: the last line was typed in dripping sarcasm with a hint of utter joy breaking in around the cracks)

Happy pinning, my friends!

Sunday Scripture

In my Bible reading, I loved this line in Matthew 11:13 (NLT) where Jesus says, "... all the prophets and the law of Moses looked forward to this present time." Could Jesus have
been any plainer in revealing Himself to be the long awaited Messiah? Wow! I have always wondered, though, if I had lived in that time,
where would I have stood? Sobering thought.
I am so grateful to live in this dispensation of grace!

A Wondrous Gift

Remember my dear aunt who so beautifully crocheted those two scarves I shared a couple weeks ago? Well, she is also very handy with the sewing machine! (A trait I very much envy, but am very glad to receive the benefits of). Just look at this ingenious pattern she found! The pincushion is not only weighted, but the base and the bottom of each petal are lined with grippy material to keep it from sliding. The bag holds sewing notions for current projects and also has a darling little pocket perfect for stowing scissors and the such like.

Isn't it lovely to have people in your life who use their talents to bless others? I am sure God smiles when He sees us blessing each other with the skills with which He endowed us.

I love you, Aunt J!

This day...

... is definitely looking up now that I have the latest issue of Victoria magazine in hand. Grabbing a warm cup of tea, slipping into my pj's, and settling in for some cozy enjoyment.

This day was also made lovely by some awards recently bestowed upon me. Lovestitch and Debi Y. both sent me the Versatile Blogger award. Leah so sweetly nominated me for the Liebster blog award. Thank you, ladies, for your kindness in thinking of me. I appreciate it most sincerely.

Have a lovely day!

Crocheted Purse

The only thing keeping this project from being complete is the lining I need to sew into it. Would only take an hour or less, but have I done it in the three months its been finished? Nope. Still hanging on the back of my craftroom door waiting ever so patiently to be finished. Poor cousin, R. She will get her purse soon. I am promising myself right now!
This pattern whipped up quick and easy. Love the handles R picked to go with the soothing brown. The pattern was retrieved from Crochet Pattern Central, but I could not readily locate the link today. Sure it is there somewhere.
Ah, well. Time to go clean out my fridge.

Wishing you a happy day! (free from the ickiness of cleaning a fridge! ;-)

Organizing...

... the light of sanity during a dreary winter day. Now don't get me wrong. I love winter, but some days, the gloom can seem fierce. I chase the grey away by keeping my hands busy with all the myriad projects that need done, but rarely are accomplished when warm breezes stir the curtains beckoning me outside to play.

May your greys be chased away today by happy utility,
